Since — surprise, surprise — our resident Alabama fans can’t take a joke about Simeon Castille, let’s switch gears.

Jeez, I mean, I thought we could have some fun. Apparently, I’m about to get strung up for kidding around. What Simeon Castille allegedly did was stupid but not criminal. Horsing around with teammates hardly deserves a “Book ‘Em, Danno” from the T-town Rent-a-cops, but with all those UA thugs running around, you can’t be too careful, right?

I kid, I kid.

Anyway, to some disappointing news involving D.J. Shockley, another stand-up guy like the Castilles who has some seriously bad news, according to sources quoted by ESPN.com.

As an aside, in case any of you like boomtown were born without a sense of humor, I take no consolation in any, ANY player getting arrested/in trouble/injured, regardless of my tongue-in-cheek posts. The only thing I have against Castille is the uniform he wears.

Same goes for Shockley, who, by all accounts, is a darn good kid who patiently waited his turn and deserves all the good things that come his way. But if you can’t have fun on a satirical blog, where can you?
