As we all know, bowl season has come and gone. Once again we had some dramatic games and some that were not. Here at TSIB we were blessed to say the least. All three teams that we primarily write about won their respective bowl games. Georgia won the Sugar Bowl, Tennessee won the Outback, and Alabama won the Toilet, I mean, Independence Bowl. Prior to the bowl season, eight of our bloggers decided to participate in the ESPN Bowl Pick ‘em. If you are not familiar with how ESPN does their Pick ‘em, it’s actually a little different. You pick the winner, straight up (no spreads), but you chose the games by confidence points. In other words, you take the games that you know for a fact you picked right and then place them with the highest confidence points. Since there were 32 bowl games this year, naturally the picks are 1-32, with 32 being your most confident game. It’s really an interesting twist, and as some of the final results show, can really help or hurt you.
So here is how we finished. In second place, with an impressive 23-9 record and 373 points was Gobble Thunder. Well done. In third place, also a 23-9 record but 343 points was Double Dogs. Coming in with the fourth spot was Vols To The Wall with 337 points and a 20-12 record. Fifth place was myself, Capstone King, with an ugly 19-13 record but 331 points. Coming in sixth place was Boomtown Madman with a decent 20-12 record and 330 points. In seventh was the guy who claimed an early victory, but soon found out that his Pick ‘em skills were not the greatest. Any guesses? Well that was Ghost of Neyland with a 18-14 record and only 323 points. And in last place, was TideFanInTN with a 21-11 record and 320 points.
Finally, the winner of the first annual TSIB/ESPN Bowl Pick ‘em is….Crimson Daddy. CD finished with a 22-10 mark and 382 points. Congrats to him. So what does Mr. Crimson Daddy win? Absolutely nothing. I guess pride, if you will, or bragging rights for the year. Anyway, it was enjoyable and I look forward to participating again next year.

Was there ever any doubt? I do expect a little more competition next year fellas. I almost led wire to wire.
I am proud of myself. I think I was in the 92 percentile. Not shabby.
We all know you got lucky. Just admit it.
I can’t think of a more appropriate summation of my life than picking having the third best record straight up, yet a lack of confidence pushing me to dead last.
Congrats CD.
I don’t remember predicting a win, but I’m sure I did.
I may be the worst person ever at picking games.
That is great, TF…..or maybe not.
Ghost, you probably didn’t, but I felt as if I should put that in there anyway.
I’m pretty sure this thing was fixed.
It wasn’t fixed VTTW, but it was unfair just having me in it.
