Just in case Jerod Mayo didn’t prove to NFL scouts that he is a sure-fire first rounder during his All-SEC season and great combine workout that included a 4.54 forty, just recently at UT’s pro day he turned in an incredible 40 inch vertical. Thats eight inches higher than the 32 inch vertical he recorded at the combine.
Just to put this into perspective, his 40 inch vertical is higher than anyone jumped at the combine, and 3.5 inches higher than any other linebacker.
Mayo is being projected as a late first rounder, potentially landing with the Titans.

Did anybody check to see if he was wearing these?

Hoop, I want some of those, but I’d break my neck before I got out of my driveway.
BTW, Matt Caddell ran a sub 4.4 and had a 39″ vertical at Bama’s pro day. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was drafted ahead of DJ Hall.
I wouldn’t draft him ahead of Hall, but those are excellent numbers.
Dang.
Stupid double post occurred because I tried to figure out how in the heck you get your links to underline in the posts.
It wouldn’t surprise me either, CD. It blows my mind every year how combine results repeatedly trump on-field performance when the draft comes, and then the season gets here and all you hear is “So and so has a chip on his shoulder for falling in the draft and he’s certainly playing like a first rounder now.” No, he’s playing like he did in college before you stripped away all the things that are essentially important to football and made it more appealing to be a T & F star than a guy who can make or break a tackle.
Again, we turn a UT post into a UA discussion.
What makes it different this time ghost is that it was an Alabama guy that did it.
Myopia.
Hooper’s right. Because UT fans are known for their great sense of perspective.
Pot, meet kettle. :)
Be intresting to see whos needs who and who’s going where in this draft. Suspense is killing me
