LSU, for the fourth? time, has kicked the self proclaimed “Next 60-million-dollar Man” off the team. Anyone surprised? Anyone?
Some Bama notes……
Tight end/offensive tackle Charles Hoke has been placed on medical scholarship. See, Brian Cook, if you’d have just waited….
Alonzo Gee has put his name in for the NBA draft. He, like Hendrix and Steele, hasn’t signed with an agent, so he can possibly return to the Tide next season if he doesn’t like his draft status.

No one gave him more chances than Miles did. Time to move on.
Perrilloux is expected to remain in school for the rest of the semester…which is a bit surprising to say the least. Not that they would kick him out of school just because he’s not on the football team, but that he was going to school at all.
Gee won’t get drafted and surely someone will make him understand that.
That is true, nerd. I’m hearing it’s academics and/or the hippy lettuce. But it really matters not what it was, it’s another example of wasted talent.
It’s kind of infuriating, really. To think that his talent was enough that he was above the rules. The worst thing to happen to him was that he wasn’t actually kicked off the team earlier where he would have to transfer to a school where he’d work for what he had. Some place like Southern or Alabama State, where he might still be drafted, but he’d be washing his own uniform while he waited for that day.
TFIT, you’re right. While the NBA referees are pretty lenient in the way they call traveling, playing in the Association stills requires one to be able to dribble.
Sure, he’s staying for the rest of the semester - the rest of the semester is like 7 days… plus, I imagine he wants to play somewhere else; any lower level d-1A or d-1aa, not to mention d2, would love to have this guy, so he probably wants to keep his grades up, as he couldn’t drop out now without having his academic record shot to hell. That is, if it isn’t shot to hell already; something tells me RP’s lifestyle hasn’t exactly been conducive to quality study time.
It’s a lot easier to kick your 5-star off the team when you’re coming off of a national title and a fresh contract extension…
You think Perriloux would have been gone if LSU hadn’t won the SEC last year? I doubt it.
I don’t know BP. It looked like they were doing absolutely everything they could to not kick him off as it is. There is the unsubstantiated rumor (read: Les Miles didn’t say this) that it was a failed drug test. That’s one of those things that would have to be a scale tipper no matter what the program considering his previous offenses.
